Oils and Interfaces Engineering Group organized the 19th Food Colloids Conference: Using colloid science to find new sustainable solutions in food

The head of OLIE Prof. Eleni Kalogianni was the organizer of the 19th Food Colloids Conference: Using colloid science to find new sustainable solutions in food, that took place in Thessaloniki, Greece on 14-18 April 2024. 

The conference aimed to bring together international experts from Academia and Industry in order to share their latest research and developments in the field of Food Colloids. 

More than 300 delegates from 34 countries participated in the conference, with 275 presentations (including plenary, keyote, oral and poster presentations) covering all the latest developments in the following Thematic Topics:

  • Surfactants, Lipids, Macromolecules, Particles: Adsorption, Interactions and Self-assembly
  • From nano to macro: Interfacial structure vs colloidal stability and properties
  • Emulsions, Foams, Gels: from classical approaches to novel systems
  • New Methods and New Insights in Food Colloidal Systems

The head of OLIE Prof. Eleni Kalogianni has successfully participated in the Workshop Agrifood: Fast Forward into the Future which organized by AgroTech Export Cluster in Thessaloniki on 3 April 2023.

During the Workshop Prof. Eleni Kalogianni presented the expertise of the Oils & Interfaces Engineering Group as well as the results of research funded projects.

Professor Eleni Kalogianni , was awarded by Hellenic Association of Food Scientists & Technologist
